Who won big? Who lost out in Assembly Elections
In Lok sabha there are Highlight in assembly elections 2019:
*Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, BJP Rajya Sabha leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, sufi singer Hans Raj Hans and Bengali actress Mimi Chakraborty among the candidates who won Lok Sabha polls for the first time.


*World leaders including US President Donald Trump, Pakistan PM Imran Khan, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Chinese President Xi Jinping have congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


*Sonipat Ramesh Chander Kaushik from BJP emerged as a giant killer defeating Congress veteran and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda by a margin of 1.6 lakh votes.

*Actor-turned-politician BJP candidate from Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol, wins by 82,459 votes.


*Modi thanks people for BJP's victory. Modi say that the polls showed the world the commitment of Indian voter. In his victory speech, Modi said that it is the victory of people and democracy.

*Varun Gandhi BJP leader wins Pilibhit seat defeating SP's Hemraj Verma by a margin of over 2.5 lakh votes.


*Clean sweep for BJP in Haryana, wins all 10 seats

*In Punjab, Congress wins 8 seats, Akali Dal-BJP 4

*The 2019 Lok Sabha polls will be the first time since 1952 that the Left Front will not end up with double digits in the general election.

*Popular Telugu actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan had a disastrous electoral debut in Andhra as he lost from both the Assembly seats he contested.

*Congress President Rahul Gandhi won Kerala's Wayanad seat with a record margin of 431,770 votes.

*Former PM and JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda loses from Tumkur (Karnataka) by 13,339 votes. BJP's GS Basavaraj wins from the constituency.

*Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan,  candidate of BjP wins by 3,01,664 votes.

*For the first time, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the verge of winning of Tripura's two Lok Sabha seats

* Jyotiraditya Scindia loses Guna seat in Madhya Pradesh by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes against BJP candidate. Sadhvi Pragya wins Bhopal seat by 3 lakh votes.

* BJP's Jay Panda loses Kendrapara seat. BJP's Sambit Patra wins Puri constituency against BJD's Pinaki Mishra.

* Narendra Modi congratulates Jagan Mohan Reddy in Telugu and Naveen Patnaik in Odia for their respective wins in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha assembly elections.

* Independent candidate Sumanlatha Ambareesh beats Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil Kumaraswamy in Mandya.

* Prime Minister Narendra Modi wins Varanasi seat by a margin of 3.85 lakh votes. Former J&K chief minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti loses Anantnag seat in J&K.

* Amit Shah wins Gandhinagar seat by over 5 lakh votes.

* BJP's Tejasvi Surya wins Bengaluru South seat.

* Meanwhile, Jagan Reddy's YSRCP sweeps Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

*DMK leader Kanimozhi won her first ever Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi constituency against state BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan by a margin of 3,47,209 votes.
